Our trainer, Liam Petrie, is a chartered Environmental Health Officer and has relevant and recent experience in the hospitality industry as well as working in Local Government, within an enforcement capacity. He will draw on this wealth of knowledge to deliver the information in a clear context with plenty of practical examples.

- A general introduction to food hygiene in Scotland
- Bacteria and their characteristics
- The incidence of food poisoning and its prevention
- Personal hygiene and working habits of the food handler
- The working environment
- Common pests and their control
- Cleaning practices
- Food safety systems (Hazzard Analysis, Critical Control Point or HACCP)
- On completion of the course, after passing the exam you will receive a REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene certificate
